Congress complaint leads to EC directive: "BJP's video targeting muslims to be removed"
Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Cell for her involvement in the investigation regarding the illegal streaming of IPL 2023 matches on the Fairplay App, which led to significant losses for Viacom (allegedly exceeding 100 crores). She is scheduled to appear before the Cyber Cell on Monday, April 29, to record her statement.
Tamannaah's summons comes in light of her alleged promotion of the viewing of IPL matches on a subsidiary app of the Mahadev online gaming and betting platform.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was also summoned in connection with the same case on April 23, has requested a rescheduled date and time for his statement. Reportedly, Dutt cited his absence from India as the reason for not attending the summons.
The investigation stems from a complaint filed by Viacom in September 2023, alleging infringement of their Intellectual Property Rights by the Fairplay App.
